ADVOCACY

All around the world, Zonta stands for women’s rights, advocating for equality, education and an end to child marriage/early pregnancy and gender-based violence.

ZONTA SAYS NO TO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Zonta Club of Hong Kong II supported the global advocacy agenda through participating in awareness campaigns and organizing local activities.  In November 2016, the Club organized the “SheObjects” movie screening, the first documentary of its kind in Hong Kong to explore how traditional and new forms of media create and exacerbate gender stereotypes with often damaging consequences.

BOUNCE!

Bounce! is Zonta Club of Hong Kong II’s advocacy program to inspire building resilience and tenacity among Hong Kong’s youth. Through this program, we aim to develop the younger generations’ ability to overcome life's challenges, and to adapt to unexpected changes with a positive mindset.

For Bounce!'s inaugural event on March 12, 2017, we sponsored tickets for students and young adults to witness Hong Kong-local boxer Rex Tso's (“the Wonder Kid”) triumphant match, the 21st win of his career.

Since then, the Club has organized a series of speaker events featuring local role models who have demonstrated resilience in overcoming challenges to realize their goals.

April 15, 2021

In our first virtual Bounce talk, Miss Yannie Chan, the first Hong Kong girl from a local school to be playing in NCAA Basketball in the US in 2021 Fall and her coach as well as owner of Strive Fitness, Mr. Will Lo, shared their journeys to develop more opportunities for local female atheletes on the international  sport platforms.
